Become a Postal Voter

With the Government announcing that elections are due to go ahead in May for the Avon and Somerset Police & Crime Commissioner and Somerset County Council elections, the pandemic has many people worried about attending polling stations in person - quite understandably.

Somerset West and Taunton Council will undoubtedly do everything it can to make voting in person safe, but the Liberal Democrats are here to help those of you who are concerned about going to polling stations and what this would mean for your democratic right to vote.

Becoming a Postal Voter

Becoming a postal voter would mean you can submit your vote at your leisure.

Unfortunately, signing up to be a postal voter isn't as easy as clicking on a link and filling in your details, you need to send in a physical form. Below are two options you can take

1. You can sign up to vote by post using a website created by the Liberal Democrats to fill in your details on the form (rather than printing and writing), print, and send to the council*. Click on the button below to start 👇

2. If you don't have a printer but would like to become a postal voter, please email [email protected]/call 01823 336666 with your name and address and we shall post you a form for you to fill in*.

Please post your completed form to: Somerset West and Taunton Council, West Somerset House, Killick Way, Williton, TA4 4QA.

* If you do not have stamps or don't wish to purchase them in the current circumstances, please post your form to us for free at: Freepost Liberal Democrats for Taunton Deane; we shall mail your form to the Council.
