At community scrutiny public meeting supporting the concerns of residents in Stoke St Mary , Hatch Beauchamp and Ruishton parishes against plans by the government for a new dual carriageway across a deeply rural area which delivers nothing for the local communities and doesn’t deliver a Henlade bypass’’ - Ross via Facebook - 16/05/2017

Im at the henlade park and ride campaigning against the closure on saturdays of the site by john thorne s conservative group on the county council . Closing this park and ride will damage our environment and put hundreds of more cars on taunton streets causing more congestion . Leaving the site with no staff on site could lead to more crime and possible incursions on site costing the council tax payer more money . Our campaign against closure is based on evidence . Between 150 and 250 cars every saturday use this site with a similar number at the silk mills site . Where do john thorne and his chums think that these 300 to 500 cars will now go every Saturday .
