What's the best use of the Firepool site?
How can we handle Taunton's traffic problems?
What can Taunton do to be green in the modern world?
Whither Taunton is your chance to have a say on all these questions and more and to help build a vision for the future of our town. This vision will feed into the Lib Dems 2019 Borough Council Manifesto and, when we win, shape the future of Taunton.
For the first half of this event we have a panel of speakers, all experts in some of the different challenges Taunton faces, for you to put your questions and ideas to. Confirmed panellists so far include;
- David Redgwell, Director of Bus Users UK and Member of Rail Future
- John Turner, CEO of Visit Somerset
- Mike Ginger, Transition Towns Taunton
- Tessa Munt, Lib Dem Councillor and former MP
Further panellists are in the pipeline hopefully to be confirmed nearer the time.
After hearing from the experts the second half of the morning will give you the chance to work in smaller groups to refine these ideas into specific proposals which will be passed onto our manifesto committee and through them will feed into our 2019 borough election manifesto.
The event is open both to members and to any non-members who share our values and want to see a brighter future for Taunton, so please come and invite your friends to join us and have their say in the future of our town.
