Taunton Town Branch present: Summer Cream Teas

Taunton Town Branch present: Summer Cream Teas

Taunton Deane Liberal Democrats (map)

It's the time of year again for our annual Cream Tea. Many of you will already know this is one of our big two fundraisers, and after a successful local election campaign and with our membership having grown significantly in the last 6 months we hope to make it bigger and better than ever.

It will be at 2.30pm on the 29th June and Gideon is kindly hosting us again at 83 Staplegrove Road. For the £10 ticket price you will get Scones, Cake and Strawberries with Tea and Coffee to wash it all down.

Of course all the money raised goes straight into party funds and supports our work in future campaigns. Just as importantly though it's a chance to catch up with friends before the summer starts and people go off on their holidays.

We hope you will be able to join us this year. Tickets are available from me on [email protected], please let us know early if you will be coming as we need to know numbers for catering.

I look forward to seeing you all again.

Annual General Meeting and Buffet Dinner with Sir Ed Davey

Annual General Meeting and Buffet Dinner with Sir Ed Davey

Please put this date in your diary, it's the biggest event in the Taunton Deane Lib Dem year.
Although it may sound a long way off, you don't want to miss out.

As last year the event will be held at the Somerset County Cricket Club Ground. However this year there will not be complicated seating plans, there will instead be a much more informal HOT Buffet, which will have a wide choice of options including vegan and vegetarian.

The AGM will start at 6.00pm (and is open to all members) and the buffet at 7.30pm. (members and guests).

Sir Ed Davey has agreed to come as our guest speaker. Ed was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, and later Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change. He says his proudest achievement as an MP was to have led the policy to secure a massive increase in renewable electricity in the UK which doubled under the coalition and put the UK on track to beat the 30% target by 2020.

Further details, including ticket price, will be announced soon.
