Simon Coles 

Simon has served as a town centre district councillor since 2005, and has been County Councillor for Taunton East since 2013. He lives with his wife in the town centre and has three grown up children. Simon is a firm believer in ensuring equal opportunities for all. Among the many improvements he has instigated and supported in Taunton, he is particularly proud of the revitalised Victoria Park, with its variety of playground facilities. Simon was also instrumental in the removal of ‘legal highs’ from our town. He is pleased to see the progress finally being made at Firepool after a decade of inaction by the Conservatives and to have supported the Liberal Democrat initiative to plant hundreds of trees locally.

Federica Smith-Roberts

Federica is Taunton born and bred and has been a councillor for Halcon & Lane since 2013. She lives in Blackbrook with her husband and children and is a governor at Blackbrook School. She has been leader of Somerset West and Taunton Council since 2019 where she believes in putting residents at the heart of decision-making. She will always listen to people to ensure our streets are kept tidy and your bins are collected on time. She will always put the environment at the heart of everything the new council does. Federica is also a keen user of Facebook as a means of communicating through local community groups to ensure issues are acted upon. She is now also Executive Member for Community on Somerset Council.
