Dixie Darch 

A retired teacher in Further Education, Dixie is currently Executive Member for Climate Change and is pushing for action to halt biodiversity loss, restore nature, increase tree cover and improve infrastructure such as public transport, electric vehicle charging points and cycle routes to help us live more sustainably. She is proud that Somerset West and Taunton (SWT) Council was recently rated as best performing council in the UK for climate action planning. Dixie is on the board of Somerset Rivers Authority and has a particular interest in managing flood risk and fostering community resilience. She has been involved in the development of Climate Positive Planning, a means by which the planning authority can encourage developers to build more sustainably.

Derek Perry

Derek is currently Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Sports, Parks and Open Spaces on SWT Council. He is also a barrister practising criminal and regulatory law and lives locally with his wife and children. Derek will use his considerable experience to work with residents to protect the environment, attract new business and opportunity to Rowbarton and Staplegrove, and ensure that new developments provide adequate infrastructure and affordable homes.
